Dr. Ray Morgan almost became an architect. He loved design — the way structure and beauty come together, the way something built with care can last for decades. Then a friend went to dental school. He went to visit, and something clicked. Dr. Morgan realized he could do everything he loved about architecture, for people.

He opened Towne Lake Family Dentistry in 1988 as the very first dentist in the Towne Lake community. In the years since, he’s built a practice defined by high standards, honest care, and results that hold up. Dr. Morgan completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology at Clemson University. After dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina, he completed a hospital residency that gave him exposure to complex cases.

Dr. Morgan is an outdoors person who is happiest at the lake, on the water, and increasingly on the farm. He’s an animal lover, especially when it comes to his dogs and horses. He has two grown children.

After 30+ years in dentistry, he’s not looking to retire anytime soon — because he genuinely loves his work and his patients.

Dr. Posey believes a life is made worthy through service to others. That’s the philosophy he brings to every patient interaction, every continuing education course, and every decision he makes about how to care for the people in his chair.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in chemistry. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in 2014.

Dr. Posey is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In addition to general dentistry, he focuses on dental implants and also provides Invisalign and dermal fillers. He considers making a real difference in his patients’ lives an honor.

In his free time, Dr. Posey enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time at the gym.

Dr. Steven Shepperd was raised by two clinicians — his mother an ICU nurse, his father a medical assistant in ENT and plastic surgery. That legacy of caring for people the right way has shaped everything about how he practices. His patients feel it. It’s the throughline of his entire career.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Florida International University, where he majored in chemistry, minored in math, and was a member of the university jazz ensemble. He went on to graduate from the Emory University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Shepperd treasures his family: his wife, Sharon, and his children, Leah and Ben. When he’s not at the office, you’ll find him on the water, on the golf course, in his woodworking shop, or in the garden.

Michelle is in her 40th year in dentistry, the last 20 of those as a treatment coordinator and manager after decades as a dental assistant. She enjoys working with people and helping them achieve the smile they always dreamed of having. Originally from the midwest (Indiana / Chicago- area), she moved to Georgia after graduating from the University of Evansville. She’s the mom of two adult children, Matthew and Amanda, and is looking forward to grandchildren. Outside the office, you’ll find her at the gym, at the lake, or with her adopted dog family.

LaToya is our dedicated Hygiene Coordinator, bringing over 20 years of experience in dentistry. She’s passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles and making every visit a positive one. Outside the office, LaToya spends time with her two young adult children and her dog, Parker. She loves Pilates, yoga, weightlifting, hiking, traveling, cooking, cheering her daughter on at collegiate volleyball games. A true plant lover, LaToya finds joy in caring for her growing collection of greenery.
